Join SPCCEC

We welcome the youth of Rumbek to learn a trade and build a future. Here is everything you need to apply.

How to Apply

Joining the Centre happens in four stages. Here is exactly what to expect at each one.

1

Before you apply

Choose the trade that fits your goals and check what you need.

  1. 1. Choose your trade Take your time

Browse the programmes and pick the trade that fits your goals. Every course page sets out what you will learn, how long the training takes and the work it leads to.

    • Compare the duration and the level of each programme
    • Read the career paths at the bottom of the course page
    • Ask our staff or a graduate if you are unsure which trade suits you
  2. 2. Check you are eligible A few minutes

Most programmes welcome complete beginners. Basic literacy helps, and the English programme places you at the right level after a short assessment.

    • Open to the youth of Rumbek and the surrounding payams
    • No previous trade experience is needed for most courses
    • Bring any school certificates you have — they help, but they are not required
2

Applying

The registration form and what happens the moment you send it.

  1. 3. Complete the online form About 5 minutes

Open the programme you chose and fill in the short registration form. You will need a phone number and an email address we can reach you on.

    • Your full name as it appears on any identification
    • A phone number you check regularly
    • An email address
    • Your highest level of schooling
  2. 4. We record your application Within 2 working days

Your application is recorded against the intake that is currently open. If anything is missing or unclear, our staff will call you on the number you gave.

    • Keep your phone reachable in the days after applying
    • Check your email, including the spam folder
    • Apply before the intake deadline shown on the Admissions page
3

Review and offer

How our staff decide, and what you will hear from us.

  1. 5. Staff review 1–2 weeks

Applications are reviewed against the places available for that intake. Priority is given to applicants from Rumbek and the surrounding area.

    • Some programmes hold a short interview or a practical placement test
    • The English programme assesses your level so you begin in the right class
    • Applying early gives you the best chance of a place
  2. 6. Your place is confirmed Before the intake begins

Approved applicants are contacted with their start date and anything they need to bring on the first day. This is the moment to raise any question about costs.

    • Confirm to us that you still want the place
    • Ask admissions about any costs and about sponsorship
    • Write down the date classes begin
4

Starting at the Centre

Enrolment, orientation and your first weeks of training.

  1. 7. Orientation and enrolment Your first week

You meet your instructors, see the workshops you will train in, and learn how the Centre works — including the safety rules that apply in every practical trade.

    • Bring a passport photograph if you have one
    • Attend the workshop safety briefing — it is required before practical work
    • Meet your class and your instructors
  2. 8. Start learning Day one onwards

Training is hands-on from the first week, following the five steps of Ignatian Pedagogy — context, experience, reflection, action and evaluation.

    • Attend regularly — practical skills build week on week
    • Join a student club such as Go Green Rumbek
    • Ask your instructor early if you fall behind

Entry Requirements

  • Open to the youth of Rumbek and the surrounding area
